Static IP in Windows 7

To configure a static IP to our Windows computer, just follow this procedure.
If you don't know your PC's current IP address, gateway or DNS, take a look here: (coming soon)

In the image you can see in detail the windows that appear during the procedure and where to click.

  1. Click on the Start menu.
  2. Open the Control Panel.
  3. In the search space, enter "card" and network connections.
  4. Open the network connections center section.
  5. Click on modify card settings.
  6. Right-click on the card whose settings you want to change.
  7. Select properties.
  8. Now you can place on IPv4 (normally) or IPv6 (to change this lesser-used connection type).
  9. Take a look at the properties button and you will be able to change the settings.
  10. If the active selection is "Obtain settings automatically" (the router provides us with the IP), you can change it to "Use the following IP address".
  11. Now you can enter the computer's IP address, default gateway (normally your router) and subnet mask.
  12. In addition, you can enter a custom DNS, e.g. 8.8.8.8 from Google, your gateway or another one you like.
