Technicolor AG plus VDNT-S open doors

Forwarding Telecom Technicolor AG plus VDNT-S modem ports.

To open (also called forward) the ports of the Telecom modem/router "Technicolor AG plus VDNT-S" provided to Alice and fiber(Vdsl2 or FTTC) customers, simply connect to http://192.168.1.1/ (default address) or http://modemtelecom using a normal browser such as Firefox or Chrome.
We will be faced with the first Telecom modem configuration screen.

At this point we follow these steps:

  • Click advanced settings (left)
  • We click configure
  • The interface offers us two choices:
    • Use an existingrule for known applications (selecting it from the list)
    • Create a new rule with specific ports
  • At this point we enter the IP address of the computer/device running the service
  • We click on activate

Examples for some common services: ssh, emule, bittorrent

To open incoming ports with your Technicolor modem for ssh, emule and bittorrent you can follow these examples:

  • ssh (port 22 TCP)
    • known application
    • SSH
    • Destination IP
    • we apply the rule
  • Emule or Amule (ports 4662 TCP and 4672 UDP)
    • we create two new rules
    • emuleTCP
      • TCP protocol port 4662 (either external or internal)
      • we enter the destination IP
      • we apply
    • emuleUDP
      • UDP protocol port 4672 (both external and internal)
      • we enter the destination IP
      • we apply
    • Now all that remains is to check if the high ID is detected after a restart of the application or if it still remains low ID or "Firewalled"
  • Bittorrent (ports 6881 and 6882 TCP) we create two new rules
    • torrentTCP1
      • TCP protocol port 6881 (both external and internal)
      • we enter the destination IP
      • we apply
    • torrentTCP2
      • TCP protocol port 6882 (both external and internal)
      • we enter the destination IP
      • We apply
    • This speeds up the client, but is usually not necessary

The same procedure can be used for any other service, such as remote desktop, VNC, Teamviewer... Only the listening ports and protocol change, which are easily found on the Internet by searching for "service-name-or-port-program"

Static IP addresses

PCs or devices running services must use static IP addresses (which do not change over time) you can configure them in the operating system or router, we will cover the configuration in another guide

Signal improvement

Over the days, we noticed that during phone calls, errors on the router increase and that we often drop the line, the solution was to install this splitter:
